Home Insurance information:

No matter what type of place you live in, or whether you rent or own, your home is a central part of your life. If you own a house, condominium or co-op, it is probably your most valuable asset. If you rent, you probably still have a lot to lose in furnishings, clothes, electronic equipment and all the valuable items you've accumulated. That's why there's home insurance to help you protect your assets by providing the money you would need to rebuild or replace your valuable possessions should disaster strike.
What will Home Insurance give you?
You can insure both the building and what you have in it, for instance all your furniture, appliances, valuables and clothing which are termed by insurance companies your contents.
A Home Insurance Policy will pay you if your home is burgled or is damaged by the following:
storms, flooding and burst pipes, fire, smoke damage, lightning and explosion, malicious damage, impact by vehicles, falling trees, poles & posts, accidental damage to fixed glass in windows, ceramic hobs and fixed bathroom sanitaryware, and debris removal amongst others.
You can choose to insure the buildings alone, or both the buildings and the contents. Usually, when you insure your contents, you will also be given some kinds of insurance cover for free, such as your legal liability following loss of credit cards, replacement of locks, accidental damage to Audio & Video equipment and more. Some companies also give free personal liability cover free with your buildings cover.
This means that if you or one of your family causes any damages for which you are legally liable, your policy will pay out the sum of your legal liability.
